Fallen Angel

Title/Título: Fallen Angel

Author/Autor: Maggie Wilson

Nº of pages/ Nº de páginas: 280

Publisher/Editora: HandE Publishers

Synopsis/Sinopse: Sister Cate Carter has been working at Westwood General Hospital for many years and always loved her job. Until the world according to Cate came crashing down when two detectives marched on to her ward. Ward 73 gave them cause for suspicion, more and more deaths were occurring with no reasonable explanation of why. This had happened before, not at Westwood General, not recently, but it had happened. David Waters, a name very well known in the medical world, was being brought up again. David was responsible for the deaths of seven patients, at least that s all they could get him for. He claimed he just wanted to put his patients out of their misery. Is this a copy-cat murderer? Or is there really another David Waters killing their patients and getting away with it?

Review/Opinião: This book is what can be called a medical thriller with a romance twist. The plot takes place at a cirurgical ward at a hospital, when suddenly random healthy patients appear dead. The first suspicions fall on the nurse staff, and the story develops around the investigation, by Detective Charlie Hammond, and the point of view of Sister Cate Carter, responsible for the ward.

This is certainly the kind of book for a reader with a soft spot for medical subjects. The descriptions are long and accurate, and take a great part in the writing of the story. Unfortunately I didn’t relate do any of the characters, nor to the mystery itself. And would have liked a more paced action and stronger dialogues. The romance part was weak, really. It is a light, easy read. This review is part of the Fallen Angel Book Tour, hosted by UK and Beyond Book Tours

2/5 – It's OK/Está OK.
